1. What's your name and are you a student or working?

Examiner: Let's talk about what you do. Do you work or are you a student? Joey: Hi, my English name is Joey. I'm currently a university student. In fact, I am studying at QiLu University of Technology.

2. Where is your hometown?

Examiner: Let’s talk about your hometown. Where are you from? Joey: My hometown is Dezhou, which is located in the northwest of Shandong province. In fact, I have been living here for over 20 years. To be honest, unlike other big cities, it doesn't really have any stunning tourist attractions or vast lush greenery, but it's a very laid-back city with a profound history.

3. What is your hometown famous for?

Examiner: What is your hometown famous for? Joey: Well, it really comes down to the food. It is famous nationwide for a traditional delicacy called Dezhou Braised Chicken. The meat is incredibly tender and flavorful. For me, as a foodie, eating it always cheers me up and gives me a strong sense of belonging to my hometown.

4. Can you tell me a bit about the history of your hometown?

Examiner: Is there anything special about the history of your hometown? Joey: Let me think about it... Yeah, actually, Dezhou has a really glorious past. In ancient times, it was known as "Jiu Da Tian Qu." To put it simply, "Tian" refers to the capital Beijing, and "Jiu Da" means nine provinces. So literally, it means Dezhou was the essential gateway for people from nine southern provinces to reach Beijing. You know, if you wanted to go to the capital, you had to pass through Dezhou — there was no way around it. That's why it became such a busy and prosperous hub back then. We even have a main road today called "Tianqu Road," which perfectly connects the past with the present.

交流-你更倾向于面对面交流还是通过社交媒体交流呢?

Do you prefer to communicate face-to-face or via social media?

"Well, it really depends on who I’m talking to.

If I’m dealing with strangers or need to handle something official, I definitely prefer face-to-face interaction. The main reason is that things like body language and tone of voice help me express my points clearly and avoid misunderstandings.

On the other hand, with close friends or casual friends, I tent to use social media. It’s just so much more convenient to keep in touch frequently without the hassle of arranging a physical meet-up every time."

交流-你更愿意和一群人聊天,还是只和一个朋友交流呢?

Do you prefer to chat with a group of people or with only one friend? "Well, it really comes down to the topic of the conversation.

If we’re just having a casual banter or need to brainstorm ideas—like planning a trip—I prefer a group setting. The atmosphere is usually livelier, and you can get different points of view.

However, if I need to discuss something private or deep, I’d much rather talk to just one friend. It allows for a more heart-to-heart conversation, and I feel safer opening up without worrying about being judged by a crowd."

游戏-空闲时做什么

1、What do you usually do when you have days off?

Well, it really depends on my mood, but most of the time, I spend my days off playing video games to unwind. I’m a big fan of competitive games like League of Legends or CS:GO, which help me switch off from reality for a while. Sometimes I play with my friends online because it’s a great way to bond over a shared interest. Having said that, if the weather is nice, I might go out, but usually, I prefer staying indoors.

2、What were your favourite activities when you were a child?

Let me think about it... I guess I was quite a practical person even as a kid, so I loved building thing with a set of LEGO. Besides that, I was definitely a foodie; I remember I could spend all afternoon eating snacks like Lay's chips or Oreos while watching cartoons.Back then, eating those high-calorie treats satisfied my sweet tooth without making me feel guilty at all. It was a really laid-back time in my life.

咖啡-早上通常做什么

3、What do you usually do in the morning?

Typically, the first thing I do is make myself a cup of coffee to ensure I have steady energy for the day. I usually use a Moka pot to brew the espresso, and then I use a stirrer to mix in plenty of milk to make a hot Latte. However, if I'm running late for work or study, I might just grab a quick Americano instead. For me, the smell of coffee is the only thing that can really cheer me up in the morning.

新疆li-保护自然的朋友

  • Describe a person who encouraged you to protect the nature. You should say: Who he/she is How he/she encouraged you What he/she encouraged you to do And explain how you feel about this person

  • Let me think about it... I wanna talk about Mr.Li, who was my high school classmate. In fact, we have been close friends for over five years. Most of the time, he is a very laid-back and practical person, but when it comes to nature, he becomes very serious. Mr.Li comes from Xinjiang, a place covering an area of vast square kilometers. Unlike the lush greenery in my city, his hometown often faces scorching weather and sandstorms. He told me that for people in Xinjiang, knowing how to protect the environment is not just a hobby, but a necessary survival skill. The main reason he influenced me so much is his story about Rose Willows. You know, typically, when tourists think of Rose Willow, they just think of the skewers used for BBQ lamb. However, Mr.Li taught me that this specific vegetation is actually a hero for infrastructure development in the desert because it fixes the shifting sand.

He encouraged me to understand that nature is fragile. If I had more free time, I would probably join him to plant trees in the desert, which would allow me to feel a real sense of achievement. He taught me to care for plants, reminding me to water them regularly and treat them with patience and responsibility. I really admire his willpower. It depends on how you look at it, but for me, he is not just a student but a guardian of his land. Talking to him really helps me clear my mind and switch off from reality to think about our planet. He makes me feel that protecting nature gives us a sense of security and belonging.

咖啡游戏-屋里最喜欢的地方

  • Describe your favorite place in your house where you can relax. You should say • Where it is • What it is like • What you enjoy doing there • And explain why you feel relaxed at this place

  • Let me think about it... I wanna talk about my bedroom, which is definitely my favorite spot to unwind. It’s located at the end of the hallway in my apartment. It’s not incredibly spacious, just a medium-sized room, but it gives me a strong sense of personal space.

As I mentioned before, I’m a practical person, so the interior is quite simple. I have a cozy coffee table near the window to catch the sunlight, and a professional computer desk in the corner for my gaming setup.

Typically, my routine in this room varies depending on the time of day. In the morning, I sit at the coffee table and use a Moka pot to brew a fresh cup. I might add some milk to make a Latte, or just have an Americano. For me, the smell of coffee is the only thing that can really cheer me up and ensure I have steady energy for the day.

However, in the evening, I shift to my computer desk. Most of the time, I play competitive games like League of Legends. It’s a great way to bond over a shared interest with my friends online. The main reason I love this place is that it helps me switch off from reality. Whether I'm sipping coffee or gaming, it allows me to clear my mind completely. It’s a very laid-back environment where I feel a true sense of security and belonging.

Let me think about it... I wanna talk about my high school classmate, Mr. Li. Actually, he isn't a traditional celebrity like a movie star, but he is a rising social media influencer on TikTok. In fact, we have been friends for years, so I’ve witnessed his entire journey from a student to a famous content creator.

Most of the time, he focuses on making creative clips of competitive games like League of Legends or CS:GO. In the beginning, his parents strongly opposed his career choice. They thought gaming was just a way to switch off from reality or unwind, and they worried he wouldn't make any money. However, Mr. Li is a self-made man with incredible willpower. He spent countless nights editing videos to prove them wrong. Now, he has over 100,000 followers and earns a stable income of 20,000 per month, which allows him to live a quite laid-back life.

If I could meet him to catch up, I would invite him to a quiet café with a nice vibe. We could grab an Americano or a Latte to ensure we have steady energy for a long conversation. The main reason I would like to meet him is to learn from his experience. I really admire his ability to multitask—you know, balancing filming, editing, and managing fans all by himself. I also want to ask how he handles online gossip or negative comments without losing his cool. I think talking to him would really cheer me up and give me a huge sense of achievement and inspiration.

咖啡-生活中不可或缺的东西

Let me think about it... If I had to choose something essential other than digital devices, I would definitely say my Moka pot. It is a classic coffee maker that I use every single day.

Typically, my morning routine revolves around this little machine. The first thing I do after getting out of bed is to brew a fresh cup of espresso. It really depends on my mood and how much time I have. Most of the time, I use a stirrer to mix in plenty of hot milk to make a smooth Latte, which tastes just like what you get in a café. However, if I’m running late for work or study, I’ll just add hot water to the espresso to make a quick Americano instead.

This item helps me in two main ways. First, it ensures I have steady energy for the entire morning. You know, I often have loads of assignments or need to multitask, so without that caffeine kick, my brain just refuses to work. Second, the rich smell of coffee filling the room is the only thing that can really cheer me up when I feel sleepy.

The main reason I can't live without it is that it has become a daily ritual. As I mentioned before, I’m a practical person, and using the Moka pot is a simple but effective way to start the day. It allows me to clear my mind and switch off from reality for a few quiet minutes before the busy day starts. Honestly, holding that warm cup gives me a real sense of security and makes my morning feel much more laid-back.

vscode-一个软件

Let me think about it... I wanna talk about Visual Studio Code, commonly known as VS Code. It is a powerful code editor installed on my laptop, which is essential for my major in Internet Security.

In fact, I have been using this software since my freshman year. Typically, I launch it every single day to work on my assignments or projects. It really depends on the coursework I have, but most of the time, I use it to write code in different languages like Java, Python, and C.

The main reason I prefer it over other tools is that it serves as a "one-stop solution." You know, traditionally, writing Java requires IntelliJ IDEA, while Python needs PyCharm, and C needs DevC++. However, switching between these heavy applications is a huge hassle. VS Code allows me to multitask seamlessly across these languages without wasting time on repeated environment configuration.

As I mentioned before, I’m a practical person, so I really admire its high extensibility. I can install various plugins to customize the editor, making it perfect for complex coding tasks. Having said that, it wasn't easy to get used to it at first. For a beginner, the interface can be quite tricky and the operation is a bit complicated compared to simpler apps. It definitely took some patience to learn the shortcuts and settings.

Despite the learning curve, using it gives me a real sense of achievement, especially when I debug a program successfully. It runs very fast, ensuring I have steady energy and focus without getting frustrated by lagging software. To be honest, for a Computer Science student, it’s the best tool to help me clear my mind and focus purely on the logic.

显卡-钱花超了

Let me think about it... I wanna talk about a high-end graphics card, specifically the 80Ti series, which I bought recently for my computer setup.

As I mentioned before, I am a CS student, and recently I have been diving into AI technology. Most of the time, I use my computer to run ComfyUI for AI drawing or to train Large Language Models based on the Transformer architecture.

The main reason I bought this card is that my old device couldn't handle complex tasks. You know, training an AI is not just about writing code; it involves heavy operations like distillation and pruning to optimize the model. If the hardware isn't powerful enough, the system just crashes.

Initially, I planned to be a practical person and buy a cheaper 60-series card, which costs about 3,000 to 4,000 yuan. However, I soon realized that it really comes down to the VRAM (Video Memory). The 60-series has a strict limit on memory. If I had bought that one, I would probably face constant errors, which would be a huge hassle and wouldn't allow me to run larger models.

So, I had to change my plan and went for the 80Ti series instead. It cost me 13,000 Chinese Yuan, which is way more than my original budget. To be honest, it costs quite a bit, and I had to use up all my savings.

Having said that, I think it was necessary. This card ensures I have steady energy to multitask—I can run a training task in the background while writing code in VS Code without any lag. Although it was expensive, seeing my code run successfully gives me a real sense of achievement and helps me clear my mind to focus on the logic.

faker-运动员

Let me think about it... I wanna talk about Faker, whose real name is Lee Sang-hyeok, a legendary Korean esports player for the team T1.

In fact, I have been a huge fan of his since my high school days. Most of the time, I played League of Legends to unwind and switch off from reality, which led me to watch the professional leagues where I discovered him.

Typically, the career lifespan of an esports athlete is very short. However, Faker is a huge exception. He has achieved six major crowns in his career and is currently maintaining a streak of three consecutive championships. While his teammates have constantly changed over the years, he remains the core of the team, giving fans a real sense of security and belonging.

The main reason I admire him is his sheer willpower. Recently, he suffered a severe wrist injury (hand injury) that could have ended his career. If I had faced that kind of pain, I would probably have given up, but he insisted on rehabilitation and returned to the stage with steady energy.

He is a self-made man with a strong sense of responsibility. Unlike some players who get distracted by gossip, he stays laid-back and humble, focusing purely on the game to clear his mind. Watching his matches always keeps me on the edge of my seat and inspires me to treat my own work with patience and responsibility.

即兴剧场

OR: Describe an occasion when you were not allowed to use your mobile phone

Let me think about it... I wanna talk about an Improvisational Theater workshop in my high school English class. Actually, it was pretty crazy because the teacher asked us to act out random situations on the spot, without any preparation or scripts.

I really had to use my imagination because I needed to create a storyline instantly. And the tricky part was doing it while speaking a foreign language. Plus, we weren't allowed to use phones. So, I couldn't look up words even if they were right on the tip of my tongue.

To be honest, it was really tough at first. I had to multitask—you know, thinking about the plot and the English words at the same time. I clearly remember trying to describe a "UFO." I had to imagine I was a scared farmer and just use big gestures instead of words.

Having said that, once I stopped worrying about grammar, it actually became much easier. I realized that body language and tone of voice really help to express my points clearly. It felt just like real face-to-face interaction.

It was a real game-changer. It taught me that speaking requires the willpower to open up. Finishing that performance gave me a huge sense of achievement, and now, I feel much more laid-back when communicating.

双城2-失望的电影

Let me think about it... I wanna talk about Arcane Season 2, which is the sequel to the animated series based on League of Legends.

As I mentioned before, I have been a huge fan of this game for years. Most of the time, I play it to unwind and switch off from reality, so I decided to binge-watch the new season immediately after it was released. The main reason I had such high expectations is that Season 1 was a total game-changer—the visuals were stunning and the story kept me on the edge of my seat.

However, to be honest, this second season left me feeling a bit frustrated. It really comes down to two things. First, as a "lore junkie," I felt disappointed that they changed the original worldview. For example, the way they handled the origin of Hextech and the Arcane magic contradicted the game's history, which was a huge hassle for a hardcore fan like me to accept.

Secondly, many famous characters I expected to see were missing. If I had written the script, I would probably have included champions like Camille or Urgot, who are essential to the city of Zaun. Instead, the plot felt rushed, and the ending for Jinx and Vi was a bit messy rather than a touching cliffhanger.

Having said that, the animation was still top-tier. But overall, it just didn't give me that same sense of achievement or satisfaction as the first season.

As I mentioned before, I have been a huge fan of this game for years. Most of the time, I play it to unwind and switch off from reality, so I decided to binge-watch the new season immediately after it was released. The main reason I had such high expectations is that Season 1 was a total game-changer—and honestly, this new season didn't let me down. First, the visuals were absolutely stunning. Every scene felt like a piece of art, and the action sequences kept me on the edge of my seat. The use of pure music and songs in the background really helped me soak in the atmosphere of the twin cities, Zaun and Piltover.

Secondly, the character development was incredible. I was really touched by the relationship between the sisters, Jinx and Vi. Although their story is tragic, seeing their willpower to fight for what they believe in gave me a huge sense of achievement as a fan. Unlike other predictable shows, it had so many twists. Having said that, finishing it made me feel a strong sense of belonging to the gaming community. It really cheered me up during a stressful week.

德州详细

Let me think about it... I wanna talk about Dezhou, which is located in the northwest of Shandong province. I visited it last summer with a group of classmates for a university assignment, and I would love to go back again.

In fact, it was a group project. Our task was to investigate the historical development of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. You know, Dezhou used to be a crucial gateway along this canal. Literally, if you wanted to transport goods from the south to Beijing, you had to pass through Dezhou — there was no way around it. So our professor asked us to visit the site and do some field research.

We spent about four days there. Most of the time, we walked along the old canal banks doing photography. I still remember the scenery was quite stunning — there were rows of willows on both sides of the river, and with a gentle breeze blowing through the branches and the sound of birds chirping, it really helped me soak in the atmosphere of this ancient waterway. It felt like the whole place connected the past with the present.

Besides the ground shots, we also did some aerial photography with a drone to capture the full landscape of the canal from above. Seeing the canal stretch across the city from that angle gave me a real sense of achievement. To be honest, it took a lot of patience and responsibility because we had loads of assignments to finish — writing reports, editing photos, organizing data — so we had to multitask throughout the trip.

Having said that, it wasn't all hard work. As I mentioned before, I'm definitely a foodie, so I made sure to try the famous Dezhou Braised Chicken. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. We also grabbed some local snacks like cherry tomatoes from the street market and even tried some fresh mint tea at a small café, which gave us steady energy for the long working days. Eating together with my teammates was a great way to bond over a shared experience.

The main reason I would like to visit again is that last time I was so focused on the project that I didn't really have a chance to unwind and enjoy the city properly. If I had more free time, I would probably explore the old town at a more laid-back pace, which would allow me to truly clear my mind and switch off from reality for a while. I also want to visit my grandmother's old neighborhood near the canal, because her family used to run boats on that very waterway. Going back would definitely give me a stronger sense of belonging and security.

Let me think about it... I wanna talk about Kashgar, which is an ancient city located in the far west of Xinjiang, covering an area of vast square kilometers.

In fact, I went there last summer with my close friend Mr. Li. As I mentioned before, he is from Xinjiang, so he was basically my personal tour guide. We were actually photography buddies on that trip because we had a photography assignment from university that we needed to complete together.

Most of the time, we were out shooting in the old town and the desert. I tried time-lapse photography to capture the sunset over the desert — watching the sky shift from scorching golden tones to deep purple was absolutely stunning. We also did some aerial photography to get full shots of the ancient streets from above — the view was a real game-changer for me. Having said that, the weather was quite extreme. During the day, it was scorching weather, but once the sun went down, it turned almost freezing. I had to constantly switch between a T-shirt and a down jacket, which was a bit of a hassle.

One thing that really kept me on the edge of my seat was exploring Kashgar's history. You know, this city was a crucial hub on the ancient Silk Road, which perfectly connects the past with the present. Walking through the old town, I could soak in the atmosphere of centuries of trade and cultural exchange. Mr. Li also took me to see the Rose Willows in the desert. Typically, tourists only think of them as skewers for BBQ lamb. However, he reminded me that this vegetation is actually a hero for infrastructure development in the desert because it fixes the shifting sand and defends the sandstorm.

The main reason I want to go back is that Kashgar is such a laid-back city with so much depth. Last time, I was too focused on completing the assignment and didn't have enough time to truly unwind and clear my mind. If I had more free time, I would probably spend an entire month there just exploring, which would allow me to capture even more stunning shots and feel a deeper sense of belonging to that incredible place.
